Memento Mori
Legacy and humility in the face of the unknown. Whether you are a business person, civil servant, lawyer, zoologist etc - know that the journey you are on is short. Not to be macabre-but Memento Mori (Latin- Remember you must die). What will your obituary say? What needles will you have tried to move? Are they driven by your principles or merely about chasing pleasure and money? Who did you help? What ripples did your life lead to? It’s worthy to reflect on this- during the longest day of the year for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. I am incredibly grateful for what adventures I am in the middle of. I have trouble saying no, and that makes life stressful sometimes. On the upside, am glad I have said yes to many things and drunk deeply from the cup of life. Big big adventures are my weakness. The aim is to arrive at the end creased with the adventures of a life fully lived- rather then with the smooth skin of the unperturbed and unburdened. Be a Resourceful Human not a Human Resource. You will find more adventures that way.
